He was born on January 20, 1938 in Two Harbors, MN to Eva Elizabeth (Makela) and Carl Clifford Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Christina Fae (Swan) Carlson.
Carl is survived by his daughter Elaine Palmer of Montana, stepsons Richard Carlson of Coon Rapids, MN and Martin (Mary) Carlson of Mankato, other relatives and friends.
