Carl G. Baumann, age 88, of Cambridge, formerly of Brooklyn Park, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep at GracePointe Crossing, Gables West, in Cambridge, MN.
Carl was born in LeSueur, MN to Clarence and Edla Baumann on January 4, 1938. After graduating from LeSueur High School in 1955 he went on to study Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota.
After graduation, Carl began his first job as a Pharmacist at Medical Center Pharmacy in Crystal. He stayed at Medical Center, eventually becoming the sole owner, until he sold the pharmacy in 1996. He then became the in-house Pharmacist at St. Therese Nursing Home in New Hope. He was there until he retired in 2007.
He developed many lasting friendships with coworkers and members of the Crystal / New Hope community. During his time at Medical Center, he met Dorothy, who became his wife.
Carl and Dorothy were united in marriage on March 18, 1961 in Minneapolis. Together they had 3 children. The family settled in Brooklyn Park to raise their family.
Carl was a life-long Vikings and Twins fan. A season ticket holder for the Vikings at the Met Center and the Metrodome. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He especially loved family time at Bowen Lodge.
Carl is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, on September 15, 2021.
He is survived by his children Wendy (Tom) Hiebert of Fountain City, WI., Carl Jr. (Helen) Baumann of Bagley, MN and Lisa (Gary) Paschke of Stanchfield, MN; grandchildren Laurie (Colt) Johnson, Jill (Nick) Thornton, Carl Baumann III, Anna Baumann (fiancé Jordan Whitlock), Amy Paschke (fiancé Bruno Oclander) and Jake Paschke; great-grandchildren Oliver Whitlock and Owen Thornton.
Also survived by his sisters, Clarice Ulrich, Audrey Gove; sisters-in-law, Mary (Robby) Ingram, Arlin Jones, Connie Limanen and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family of Carl Baumann wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at GracePointe Crossing, SV2, and all those that helped Carl in any way.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday July 25, 2026 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge, MN from 1-3 PM.
Private burial will follow.
