Arlene Janet Ringer, 89, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, in Cambridge, MN. Born on April 3, 1935, in Sunrise Township, Rush City, MN.
Arlene was a proud graduate of Rush City High School, class of 1953. Her early work at Mutual Service in Minneapolis was a brief chapter before her heart led her down a path of lifelong companionship and family. On August 1, 1954, she married the love of her life, Albert "Bud" Ringer, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rush City.
The Ringer family planted their roots in various places, for a short time in Tracy, MN, where their first son, Allen, was born. Eventually, they returned to Rush City, where Arlan, Dale, and Janet joined the family. Arlene dedicated herself to raising her children while Bud worked at Midland Gas Station. In 1965, the family moved to Cambridge. Bud took a new job with Federated Coops, while Arlene continued to raise the family.
For twenty years, Arlene served as a lunch aide at Cambridge Middle School, touching the lives of countless students with her kindness before retiring. She was an active member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Arlene's love for her community was matched by her love for travel, as she and Bud took their family on many vacations across the United States.
Arlene's interests and hobbies brought joy not only to herself but also to her friends and family. She relished her coffee gatherings with the ladies at Herman's Bakery, and her shopping trips to Target were always a highlight. Her flower garden was a testament to her nurturing nature, and family gatherings were the pinnacle of her joy. Arlene spent her last seven years at GracePointe Crossing.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert "Bud" Ringer; her daughter, Janet Ternes; her grandson, Jackson Ternes; and her brothers, Dennis Nelson and Harvey Nelson.
She is survived by her loving sons, Allen (Debra) Ringer of Pine City, Arlan (Robin) Ringer of Rush City, and Dale Ringer of Cambridge;son-in-law, Eric Ternes of Vadnais Heights; grandchildren, Brandon (Jill) Ringer, Aaron Ringer, Amanda (Bradley) Eddy, Emily Ringer, Heidi Ringer (Conner Bergman), Molly Ringer, Caitlin (Derek) Ostman, Allison (Owen) Krueger, and Mackenzie Ternes; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (David) Denker of Isanti; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
