Dale Allen Gustafson, 59, of Stanchfield passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at his home.
He was born June 24, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Manley and Gloria (Staehnke) Gustafson. When Dale was 5 years old, the family moved to Rush Point. He attended grade school and high school in Cambridge. After high school he went to work as a machinist at Dacon Manufacturing in Blaine for several years.
Dale had two children, Ashley and Justin, they lived for a time in Pine Village and later the Goldenwood area of Cambridge. Dale would also live for a time in New Richmond, WI, and the last several years he made his home in rural Stanchfield. He worked as a machinist at Tolerance Masters in Blaine for the past 20 years.
He was active in the Cambridge Curling Club, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, visiting friends in Florida in the winter, and spending time with friends at Namakan and Brown Lake. Dale also enjoyed the weekly “Safety Meetings” that took place during happy hour at the Cambridge Bar and Grill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Cheryl Fields. Dale is survived by his children Ashley (Mike) Morrissey of New Richmond, WI, Justin (Alecia) Gustafson of Maplewood, four grandchildren Taylor and Sami Morrissey, Sophia and Odin Gustafson, brothers Mark (Theresa) Gustafson of Florida, Jeff (Jan) Gustafson of Cambridge, Bruce (Becky) Gustafson of Minong, WI, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home.
