Mary Kay Bloomgren, known affectionately as Mary to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, at the age of 72 in her hometown of Cambridge. She was born on May 29, 1951, to the late Russell and Phyllis (Larson) Bloomgren.
Mary's journey through life was marked by her commitment to education and her passion for helping others. She attended Cambridge Senior High, graduating in 1969, where she was actively involved in various activities, showcasing her friendly and outgoing nature. Mary's pursuit of knowledge led her to St. Mary's University of MN, where she earned her Master of Arts in 2002. Her dedication to learning became a beacon of hope for many as she embarked on a rewarding career in Special Education, teaching in Wisconsin and later in the Braham School District.
She enjoyed going to the Senior Activity Center in Cambridge and to challenge a game of Dominoes. Her commitment to faith and community was evident through her volunteer work at the Cambridge Lutheran Church and her participation in Bible study. Mary's kindness was a cornerstone of her faith, and she lived her beliefs through her actions, spreading warmth and compassion wherever she went.
While Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and brother David Bloomgren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories that will be cherished by her surviving cousins, other relatives, and friends. Her spirit will continue to live on through the stories shared and the lives she touched. Mary's absence will be deeply felt, but the memories of her laughter and her kindness will remain as a comforting reminder of a wonderful life.
Memorial Service 11AM, Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at 9:30AM in the church cemetery.
