Donald Delano Ziebarth, age 91, of Cambridge, Minnesota, died on April 21, 2024.
Donald was born in Livonia Township, at home, to Frank and Alice Ziebarth on March 4, 1933. At the age of 1, his family moved to what was known as the Brinkman Place in Spencer Brook Township, which was near the King School House. At the age of 2, the family moved to the Clough Farm. Around 1936, his family moved to the Spencer Brook Motel, which his father purchased for $500. Don graduated from Princeton High School in 1951.
In 1953, Uncle Sam called and Don began serving our country. Don served our country through the Korean War until 1955. While he was on leave in 1953, Donald was united in marriage to Betty Caryl. They resided in Iowa for six years while Don worked for the school. The family returned to Minnesota, at which time Don began working for Federal Cartridge Corp. Don, Betty and their six children made their home in Spencer Brook Township.
Don and Betty moved to Cambridge in 1985 after Don retired from Federal Cartridge. He then worked for School District #911 as a bus driver, until he retired. After the loss of his wife of 46 years, Don met Judy Anderson in 2000. They were united in marriage in 2023. Don was many things to many people. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He loved trap shooting, was a race fan, and loved spending time with his family. He loved to tell jokes and stories to anyone who would listen. Don had a genuine love for life and people.
He always had good things to say about everyone he met. As his yearbook once said, “A boy whose love for fun has made him many friends.”
Don was preceded in death by his first wife Betty; parents Frank and Alice; sisters Annabelle, Delores, Joyce, and Joan; brothers Bernard, Frank, Jerry, and Dennis; grandsons Billy, Donald and Brian.
Left to mourn the loss of Don is his wife Judy, his six children Pat, Pam (Jim), Donny (Janice), Doug (Karen), Carla (Lee), and Sherry (Jeff). He also leaves behind grandchildren James, Jason, Jenny, Kristy, Amy (Nathan), Greg (Crystal), Matt (Danielle), Josh, Ashley, Lyndon and Brittany, as well as 23 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. His siblings Willy (Diane), Larry, and Mary, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
